#FishersCares Spotlight: Sahm’s Restaurant Group

SAHM’S RESTAURANTS HELPING FLATTEN THE CURVE

Amid these challenging times brought
on by the COVID-19 pandemic, one
Fishers restaurant has pivoted its
business model to help feed the
community and flatten the curve.

Sahm’s Restaurant Group is currently
working on three community-based
initiatives aiming to mitigate the
spread of COVID-19 & safely feed the
community , while also supporting the
meaningful employment of their staff.

Transforming many of its restaurants
into Food & Provision Marketplaces–
including its Fishers location on
116th Street– customers can order
both family and individual style
carryout meals, in addition to
essential grocery items– all at grocer
prices.

“Our main goal is to encourage
everyone to stay home and help us
flatten the long term impact the virus
will have on our neighbors,” said
owner Ed Sahm.

In addition to Sahm’s Marketplace & Pantry,
the restaurant group has put forth two
other community initiatives, during the
COVID-19 pandemic, including a partnership
with Second Helpings downtown Indy, as
well as its Healthcare Professional Meal
Sponsorship program.

In its partnership with Second Helpings,
Sahm’s downtown satellite kitchen has
helped prepare over 30,000 eat-at home meals
per week, for low income seniors and
families struggling during the this
unprecedented time.

Similarly, through their meal sponsorship
program, with the help of community
sponsors, the Sahm’s team is able to
produce individual meals to help feed the
healthcare workers, on the front lines of
COVID-19.

“Community members and businesses can
sponsor an entire healthcare worker shift
or contribute a dollar amount, and the
meals will be presented on your behalf,”
said Carl Krockenberger, Director of
Marketing.
